The tiny pale blue dot flickering in an ever-expanding darkness.

The earth is a miniscule speck in the cosmic dust out there. There is not just a single star and a single galaxy out there but billions of stars in a single galaxy and even billions and billions of galaxies are present out there in the visible cosmos. And just then, there is so much that we can’t even see yet and then there’s even more that we can’t even comprehend.
So, would it matter if not just our species, but even the planet was gone?

And yet
down here, humans tend to think it’s all about them.
Funny species.

Everything that humans have ever known starting from their history to their egos and from their feelings to their emotions, none of that actually matters.
As truth reveals to us, we are suspended on a pale blue dot in a mighty, mighty universe out there about which we do not know anything. Therefore, we cannot be certain about anything.
Thus, everything that has happened up until now in our short history, has achieved nothing but simply muddled everything up. Humans have vandalized nature and polluted the beauty of their own kind. Humans, above all, shall remain unforgivable.

Beginning to think of everything that humans have done to their own kind from spilling rivers of blood to crying like a baby to rule nothing but a tiny fraction of this negligible dot makes me do nothing but laugh at their inner insecurities which they were never strong enough to quench on the inside itself and thus, made the external world suffer for something they never should have suffered for.

Everything from our flammable egos and the insecure causes that lay underneath it to the self justified claims of our self-importance and the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are all questioned by the actual facts of the cosmos. That we lay on nothing but a tiny pale blue dot.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. Moreover, in our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will ever come to save us from ourselves.

Even with the Musks and Bezos on the global scene now, a planetary migration seems far from becoming a possible reality anytime soon, at least in the near future. The earth is where we stand. At least, for now.
They say astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than cosmic reality.
Thus, it should be enough to teach us that we should live by nothing but the simple truths and facts of life and the cosmos, till we are here.
Since dignity and integrity are traits that allow humans to rise above themselves and contribute to a greater cause.

  1. Your words deeply resonated with my line of thoughts that I usually have (which I find it extremely difficult to pen down or mostly it disappears before I can find a pen & paper).

Coming back to your post, you’ve much depth in your thoughts and the way you present it, is highly commendable!

    Keep writing and inspiring ✍️
